S.D. Katz is an award-winning filmmaker working in Los Angeles, Beijing and NYC. He's the author of the best-selling books Shot by Shot and Cinematic Motion. His short films have appeared on Saturday Night Live and in numerous film festivals. He regulary writes for magazines including Scenario, Graphis, Variety and Millimeter. Steve spent many years in China helping launch their digital animation projects and training dozens of artists. He was a producer and visual consultant for Thru the Moebius Strip, China's first major CGI feature. When Steve is not writing,  shooting or editing, he might be playing guitar or banjo.
